HAPPY THANKSGIVING

Happy Thanksgiving to all of our friends and family!

Of course we are beyond grateful to share our family Thanksgiving tradition with Jack - Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Some day we will bring him down to Central Park West to our favorite watching spot, but for now we are so happy that he is here with us.

On this day of thanks, we want to thank Dr. Lewis and the team at Shriner's Hospital in Boston for all they have done for Jack. We also thank Jennifer at Lifelink for her continued support.

To families who are still waiting to bring their children home, we send our thoughts and prayers.

To our travel family, the Mansens, we thank you for your friendship and bond.

Lastly and most importantly to our family here in Florida and in chilly New England - thank you for all of our love, support and encouragement!

Discharged & Heading Home

Our beautiful little boy continues to amaze us. Yesterday afternoon he rally turned the corner after Dr.Evan removed his tongue stitch. Last night he was fired up and ready to play. he started drinking fluids and didn't need the pain medicine. This morning during their rounds, the doctors decided we could go home. I am writing this post from my cell phone at the lovely Crown Room in the Atlanta airport. We all look forward to sleeping in our own beds. We thank everyone for their warm wishes of love and support.

Jack is out of surgery

Jack is out of surgery. This has ben far harder and more emotional than his first palate operation. He's swollen and in pain. We haven't really been able to hold him either. He has to stay inside an oxygen tent with moisture.

Happy Faces

The kids are really enjoying each other. Hunter and Jack has become great buddies. When we pick Hunter up from school Jack claps in the backseat.

Holding on tight to his big brother. Jack loves anything that Hunter does. He is so daring and fearless. I get a bit worried by his courage, but with this next surgery coming up, I know how much he needs that courage.

We head back up to Boston on Monday. The surgery is scheduled for Tuesday morning. The surgeons hope to completely repair his soft palate. If you are curious about the surgery check out this link - http://www.plasticsurgery.org/patients_consumers/procedures/CleftLipPalate.cfm
